Floating Labyrinth Seal
The Floating Labyrinth Seal is an oil-lubricated seal for high-pressure turbo expanders. The floating ring is mounted on the shaft and can self-center as the shaft moves radially. Sealing oil is supplied into the gap, forming a 20–80 μm thick film. This film both seals and separates the ring from the shaft, eliminating dry friction.

The Floating Labyrinth Seal is an oil-lubricated seal for high-pressure turbo expanders. The floating ring is mounted on the shaft and can self-center as the shaft moves radially. Sealing oil is supplied into the gap, forming a 20–80 μm thick film. This film both seals and separates the ring from the shaft, eliminating dry friction.
2. Extremely Low Gas Leakage
Sealing oil pressure is maintained 0.2–0.5 MPa above process gas pressure, preventing gas from bypassing. Gas leakage is extremely low, ≤0.5 Nm³/h. The oil film also cushions the floating ring, absorbing vibration and shock during startup, shutdown, or load changes. This ensures stable, reliable operation.
