Compliant Seal
The Compliant Seal is designed for rotary air preheaters. Traditional friction plate seals wear quickly due to metal-on-metal sliding. Our seal uses 2 to 4 heat-resistant steel rollers per unit (ZG40Cr25Ni20). These rollers roll on the sector plate, eliminating sliding friction and greatly reducing wear.

1. Rollers Instead of Sliding Friction
The Compliant Seal is designed for rotary air preheaters. Traditional friction plate seals wear quickly due to metal-on-metal sliding. Our seal uses 2 to 4 heat-resistant steel rollers per unit (ZG40Cr25Ni20). These rollers roll on the sector plate, eliminating sliding friction and greatly reducing wear.
2. Follows Thermal Deformation
The rotor expands and warps under heat. The Compliant Seal adapts with ±6 mm radial floating and ±4 mm axial following. Counterweights and disc spring stacks maintain constant pressing force on the rollers, keeping them in contact with the sealing surface at all times. This prevents air leakage even under high-temperature conditions. Launched in 2016, the seal has solved air preheater leakage issues for over 200 units in China.
3. Easy Maintenance and Long Life
Individual rollers can be replaced without removing the entire seal. The new-condition leakage rate is ≤4.5%, and the seal operates reliably up to 450°C. It supports rotors from 6 to 18 meters in diameter and provides a service life of 5+ years. On-site measurement and installation guidance are available.
