It is typically manufactured by shearing, spiral-winding, and compressing pure flexible graphite paper; while its cross-section is predominantly square, it can also be processed into wedge or V-shapes for use in high-pressure applications, or fabricated with a 45-degree miter cut. Reinforced versions feature internal liners-such as stainless steel-to enhance their compressive strength.
This product possesses inherent self-lubricity, high resilience, and impermeability, enabling it to withstand operating conditions characterized by severe fluctuations in temperature and pressure.
